Amsterdam - A Stolen Moment
There is something about the early morning in a city which feels as if it is in slow motion.
Although it rained at 7am that day we headed out to one of Amsterdam’s Saturday morning markets. Warm from sleep and escaping our companions, keen to be alone we left the comfort of our hotel and pushed onto the cobbled walkway. There is something about the early morning in a city which feels as if it is in slow motion. We walked close and chatted quietly against the sound of the cars pushing though the rain. We held hands as we ambled through the stalls, our breakfast was somewhere under the wet sagging awnings waiting to be discovered. Cheese rounds felt like columns as they towered either side of us – as we wandered through, sipping coffee and passing mouthfuls of warm chocolate covered pancakes back and forth, until we dropped back out into the rain.
